A week before finals week

In-class doodle (engineering class :/ ) came out really fun!

Sad kitties drawing was fun too...maybe I would make a series of them? I think they represent my mood sometimes (when I really want to smash my head into something...or hide in a cave.)

Can't wait to see my friend's cat again...He's coming to stay at my place in mid-Dec.

Finals week=busy

Sick :/

I've been so sick in the past week...it's rare for me to be this sick :/ hopefully I can finish projects on time. Damn you strep throatttttttt

During this semester, I am thinking about what I really like to do with my art. And I realized that I don't really know what I want to do with it. I admire so many different styles. I just can't pick one thing and set with it...It makes me mad sometimes about not having my own style of doing art.

Restaurant review#2: Crooked Duck

Crooked duck is a very cute family restaurant located at Anaheim& PCH. I passed by this place everyday but this is the first time to try their food.

The waitress/waiter was nice and asked me if I want to sit inside at the bar or on the patio. So I decided to sit at the bar. The interior was very welcoming; wooden bar and vintage sofa. The staffs were smiling all the time and the owner (i guess he's the owner :o) chatted with the customer and staffs.

It's nice that they have seasonal decoration going on that the customer feels like home. I especially like the ducks on the bar. The takeout box with my empty plates (i couldn't wait to eat it before I draw it...so it's empty.)

I ordered blueberry flapjacks with sausages and milk. They tastes perfect for a weekend breakfast. I wish I should've come with my friend so I can get to see the other food.

The little quackers' menu inspired me to draw this :)

sketch, sketch, SKETCH.

Moon Festival: I was gonna draw all BBQ food....but after we ate them all, I don't feel it. Instead, I was just in food coma and draw my friends.
Peeking and drawing people on the grass again. I think some of them did know I was drawing them; so did they change pose :/

GE classes are so boring...the only way to keep me awake in class is to draw people. The best thing is that people don't recognize you are drawing them in the back. Of course I have MORE of those.

A sneak peek to my other class's zine assignment. We are going to print them out in a Risograph printshop next week. So exciting!

Restaurant Review#1: Long Beach Fish Grill

Long Beach Fish Grill is very close to where I live. (within a mile!)
This is actually the second time I try them out. But my first time was To-Go.

It's the first time I ever spent one and a half to just "investigate"the restaurant.

Since it was Tuesday, I ordered the fish taco plate and I got discount ;) (TACO TUESDAY) The plate cost about $8. It's not cheap but a decent price for the food and the place is nice an clean.

The guy who took care of my order was super nice; he asked me if I want the fish fried or grilled, and I couldn't make decision, I asked him which is the best, and he said I can get one each for grilled and fried.

The counter is clean and full of stuffs you will need to "decorate" your tacos. They have local newspaper and some magazines for you to read, which is pretty nice. Also the exchanging business card holder is for people to advertise themselves.

It seems like they have a good collection of beers (sadly I am not a beer person ...)
I should give it a try next time!

All fish they serve will be on the blackboard, also the one that was sold out will be on the bottom. I was sitting there and draw, during the time there were few customers seemed like they often visit the fish grill that the guy recognize them and order their favorite fish plates.

Here's the close up of tacos. (oppse I finished one already)

They have both outdoor and indoor dinning area. Indoor they have a tropical fish tank. (Sadly, there weren't any fish on that day!usually they have pretty fish.) Wi-fi and television are available too.

Last, this is how the whole plate would look like.
2 fish tacos serve with rice and beans. $8 tax included.

It's a good place for who loves eating fishhhhhhhhhhhh

Drunk drawing (don't do it

It was last Sunday, my friends and I were having a little alcohol. Not surprising, I had hangover :///

[According to my boyfriend]
After few shots, I started giggling and crazy. I was up and down. There were my friends who tried to make fun of me so I told them I would draw them nice portraits...

Left: my meanest friend Right: my BF
Some dudes playing video games on the couch
Cute Jessica who was also drunk.

Maybe I would try again.

Animal sketch#1

And here's a sketch inspired by my friend's rabbit.

Luggage

Living in a foreign country could be a challenge. There are many things you'll have to overcome with. Such as transportation, money, and homesick. O well. It's been five years already, but homesick never stops. I came from Taiwan when I was in high school. All my family went back to Taiwan three years ago. Since then I was alone in the United States.

When you are not home and your family isn't around, luggage is the best moving buddy for you. Every six months I will go back to Taiwan and get supplied. Two large luggages and a backpack. They will bringback  all the essentials for me.

These are the stuffs that I obtained in this summer. Mostly are food and small stuffs that I can hang around. I love the ocarina so much that I wish to finish painting it by the next few weeks.
